Ever heard the classic question: mountains or beach? Well now you don’t have to choose! Come journey with us up to Santa Barbara, where will be car camping for two nights in a super sick mountainside pullout up in the Santa Ynez Mountains and taking a beautiful hike or two up in the mountains through some beautiful rocky locations. We’ll drive down off the mountains and spend the next day on a kayak tour of Santa Barbara Harbor and waterfront, hopefully spotting some sea lions, harbor seals, and gnarly brown pelicans! We’ll take lunch at a little offshore sandbar, then come back up the mountainside for some sunset cave hopping before spending night two up in the mountains. Then we’ll amble back down to campus in time for ya’ll to get work done Sunday afternoon/evening!

What to Bring:

• Masks, hand sanitizer, and cleared Trojan Check (will be worn in all closed spaces and in transit)

• Mess Kit (Fork/Spoon, Plate/Bowl)

• Daypack (most school backpacks will work)

• Sleeping Pad

• Sleeping Bag

• Pillow (if wanted)

• Headlamp/Flashlight

• 2-3L of water (in water bottles or water bladder)

• Warm sweatshirt/Jacket 

• Warm pants/ sweatpants

• Outer layer jacket (it gets windy up there!)

• Comfortable Hiking Shoes: Running Shoes/Hiking Boots

• Socks

• Underwear

• Swimsuit

• Shorts & shirt that can get wet

• Reef-safe Sunscreen/Sun Protection

• Beach shoes
