ALRIGHT WHERE THE HELL IS THE LOST COAST??

well if i knew, it wouldn’t bloody well be the LOST coast now would it?

Come spend your thanksgiving with us, Noah and Alex, at the lost coast, California’s undeveloped and wild redwood forest on the coast of northern california. Now I tell you what, thanksgiving is my favorite holiday bar none, so if you’re concerned about not getting thanksgiving-y let me tell you right now that will not be a problem:

day 1 we are driving we are whipping that thang north the whole day, and we will stop 2-3 hours shy of the lost coast and camp at howard lake to enjoy a stargazing night before we hit the forest.

day 2, aka thursday, aka thanksgiving, aka my personal superbowl, we will drive north the last two hours or so to shelter cove, home of california’s black sand beach, at which we will play a thanksgiving game of two hand touch football. it will be a bit nippy up north, probably around 50 degrees, so if you are keen on a chilly nose and flushed cheeks, as is the tradition of a brisk thanksgiving anywhere that has seasons, this is the trip for you! scrap LA’s 80 degree thanksgivnig! go somewhere with a nice chill, get some refreshment in them lungs.

from the beach we will head to our campsite in the woods for the rest of the day for a thanksgiving day of repose. you will all be welcome to read a book, relax and chat, go for a run if you enjoyed doing turkey trots on thanksgiving, take a nice constitutional, or hang out at the campsite and help us cook. COOK! that’s right, thanksgivings my favorite holiday and I would die before I don’t have a thanksgiving meal. we will be making mac n cheese (my famous recipe), stuffing, cranberry sauce, vegetables, and we’ll be cookin a bird baby! not a turkey those are huge, but a bird! baby! thanksgiving! and after the meal we are gonna give some heavy duty thanks!! we grateful as hell on this trip!!

day 3, friday, we will get some actual hiking in , doing a nice full day hike into the untouched dense redwood forest, which will include a .25 mile loop through the Fern Canyon, a place so dense with bigass ferns it looks prehistoric. so prehistoric in fact, it was featured in jurassic park for the bits when there were dinosaurs on the loose.

day 4 we will drive part of the way down and try to find some sneaky hot springs on the way, maybe a sneaky 2-3 mile afternoon hike, and camp somewhere we can stargaze.

day 5, sunday, we will finish the drive home

we will be mad gratefull EVERY NIGHT!!

we will have a fire EVERY NIGHT!!

We will get to know each other and learn and share things we’ve never told a soul EVERY NIGHT!!

under the stars EVERY NIGHT!!

thanksgiving babyyyyyy!!!!
