Are you a fan of pointing? Are you BIG (into the outdoors) and in need of an excursion before finals season? Then come and join Julia and Ivette on this amazing trip to Big Sur and Point Lobos! We will meet in the village bright and early at 6:30 am and embark on a 5.5-6 hour drive up to Big Sur. We’ll check in to our campsite and enjoy a delicious lunch before commencing our first hike: a 1.7 mile/2.7 km with 436 ft/132.9m elevation gain. We will point at the stunning waterfall views and frolic through the redwoods. Afterwards we will return back to our campsite and enjoy a BIG dinner under the stars. On our second day we will enjoy a lovely breakfast before setting off to our hike in Point Lobos. On the way we will stop in Point Sur and check out the Point Sur Lighthouse! After exploring and taking some awesome pictures, we will hit the road again and arrive at Point Lobos for a 6.3 mile/10.33 km hike with 708 ft/215.8 meters of elevation. After our hike we will check out the Whaler’s Cabin Museum as well as the iconic Bixby Creek Bridge just in time for the stunning sunset views. We will then return to our campsite and enjoy a scrumptious meal with our mini basecamp group! The night will be spent making new connections and good vibes after a fun filled day. On our final day, we will depart our campsite around 9 am and say goodbye to our awesome basecamp buddies. We’ll then hit the road back to campus!
