Do you want to a trip to the wonders of the desert?! If so, come join Keira and Alejandra on an unforgettable adventure around the Mojave National Preserve! We will leave at 8:30am on Saturday morning: our first stop will be a 4-mile (500 ft elevation) hike with to an awesome extinct cinder cone volcano (Amboy Crater), where we will enjoy our lunches. Then we’ll head to our campsite for the night near Kelso Dunes and spend some time playing in the sand and surfing the dunes (~3 miles, 600 ft). Alejandra and Keira will cook up a delectable dinner and we’ll do some stargazing before heading to bed and resting up for the day ahead. On Sunday morning, we’ll drive past more cinder cone volcanos on our way to the last destination. We’ll hike to a lava tube cave and climb deep inside the volcanic wonder (1 mile, 150 ft). Back at the trailhead, we’ll eat our lunches and ponder the magic of the desert before heading back home.
