Nothing beats the midterm woes like some fishing and adventure, so come join Ryan and Joe for a beautiful trek along the Sespe River! We will be departing from the USC Village at 8am on Saturday, February 28th, bound for the Sespe River trailhead up in Los Padres National Forest. After a quick snack, and inevitably some hacky sacking, we’ll secure our packs and hike 4.5 miles (7.2 kilometers) up river to the Bear Creek campsite. The trail will require us to wade across the river at multiple points, so be prepared and stoked to cool off, get wet, and navigate across slippery logs and loose rocks. Along the way we will stop for lunch, and pull out the fishing rods in search of the running rainbow trout and steelhead. No worries if that sounds too fishy, we will also swim, play Spikeball and hacky sack, and bool. Once at our campsite we’ll have ample time for more activities before Joe and Ryan chef up a delicious dinner under the stars and we are lulled to sleep by the babbling brook. In the morning, we’ll make breakfast and pack up camp. Heading to the cars, as we wade back through the familiar waters, we’ll ask ourselves, can we really walk through the same river twice? For are we really the same person we were before? Or is it really the same water? Hmmmm. Sign up and come find out…

Please note, both guides will have fishing licenses. You can purchase your own here or assume the risk at your own discretion.
